On 5 July 1896 the foundation stone of the Radhošť chapel was consecrated. The finished chapel was consecrated by Theodor Kohn, the Olomouc Archbishop, on 11 September 1898. The architect Skibinský designed the chapel in the Byzantine style to symbolize the Byzantine origin of both the Saints.
The chapel was decorated with a marble Cyril-Methodius altar made by Neumann, a sculptor from Kroměříž and in 1904 a right side altar was built there for Walachian Madonna, a painting by Liebscher. The original of the painting is currently replaced by a copy by Otakar Pavlovský. In the opposite corner there is a pieta painting (the grieving Our Lady with a body of Jesus Christ in the lap after being taken off the cross). The mosaics in eight windows show scenes from the life of Cyril and Methodius, St. Hedwig, St. Ludmila, St. Wenceslas and St. John of Nepomuk. The desire for unification of Christians of the western and eastern rite is symbolized by the inscription above the chapel entrance saying "Love each other, the Slavs, and unite in the faith preached here by Sts. Cyril and Methodius". In August 1906 František Bauer, a successor of the Archbishop Kohn, came to Radhošť and later got engaged in building the road from Frenštát to Pustevny. In 1911 he was unveiled a commemorative plaque of the "Prince´s Road". The chapel was extensively refurbished in 1924 -1926. Constructional works were managed by František Bayer, a constructor from Rožnov and carpenters led by Master Michal Fabián from Zubří participated in them. They plastered the chapel, lined with roof shingle and then they added a bell-tower in the Greek-Uniat style. The refurbishment was carried out due to continuous getting in and insufficient maintenance during WWI. The chapel underwent the latest renovation in 2000 when the whole bell-tower was refurbished. Everything was controlled by the Matice Radhošťská Association which has taken care of the chapel since its consecration in 1898.
